vijay’s 50th film is to be directed by Perarasu. This was reported a few days ago. But there is no news of the cast and crew, yet. While some sources say that Tamanna has been signed up to star opposite the Ilayathapathi, this has not been confirmed till date.

Not many people know that Saif Ali Khan is a huge fan of Clint Eastwood and has even styled his production company Illuminati Films after the Hollywood actor's production house Malpaso Productions.

Says a source close to Saif, "Clint is Saif's favorite actor and he has grown up watching Clint's films. He also has a vast DVD collection of all of his films and has adorned his Bandra office with his posters."

According to the source, "Saif was toying with the idea of launching his own production house but was wary of taking the first step. Then one day Saif saw Clint's interview in which he narrated how he started his production house. When Clint mentioned to a friend that he wanted to produce films, his friend replied 'malpaso', which means a bad step in Spanish. But instead of deterring Clint, it spurred him to make movies he believed in and that's how he launched Malpaso Productions."

The source adds, "Saif was fascinated by the story and he woke up his business partner Dinesh Vijan in the middle of the night. He suggested to Dinesh to start working on the venture even though people may think it's a bad step."

The next step was finalising a name for production house. Says the friend, "Saif is fond of reading Dan Brown's novels and he loved the term Illuminati from Angels And Demons."

Trying to keep controversies aside, Big was fully geared up for The Last Lear .Talking about his role, Amitabh said, “I am playing a retired Shakespearan actor who is acting in a film. Arjun Rampal is the director of the film.Bachchan had a great time working with the director Rituparna Ghosh. I was really interested in working with Rituparna Ghosh since a very long time. Finally we got a script to work together upon. I have to say that it was a fantastic experience in working with an exceptional director like Rituparna Ghosh. He is not just exceptional in his thoughts but in his writing and also in the way in which he treats his artists. He provoked and excited us to a great extent.After having delivered dialogues in Hindi for so many years, how was it delivering dialogues in English?I had no problems in delivering them. It was deliberate to keep it in Engish as the subject was concerning an actor who was a retired Shakespearean actor. When you talk of Shakespeare, it has to be English.
. I had an amazing time shooting in Kolkata as I had worked there for eight years not as an actor but as an executive. The people of Kolkata have always shown great affection for things that are artistic. I hope they enjoy the film as much as everyone else.

The first shooting schedule of Vinod Chopra Films next venture 3 Idiots commenced on 26th August 2008 in Mumbai. The first scene was shot in an aircraft with R. Madhavan. The next schedule which is 20-day long will be held at Ladakh wherein lead pair Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor will participate.3 Idiots is the next edition from the maverick director of hit Munnabhai series, Rajkumar Hirani, and toplines Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor, for the first time together. The film also features R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Boman Irani in pivotal roles

With this, he will challenge the likes of Cheran and Sundar C who have been accepted into the mainstream by Tamil cinema. Subramania Siva will direct the Ameer starrer Yogi. Siva declares that Ameer plays a rustic baddie in his Yogi and that his plot is tad different from the rest of the movies. “Ameer has no intention to enjoy the privileges of being a hero or to throw tantrums on the sets,” states Siva. “That is not the reason he decided to take up the role. I wanted a face just like Ameer’s and I thought I might as well direct him.” Siva replies.Ameer does not have a heroine paired opposite him for Yogi. However, the director is busy searching for a schoolgirl with adolescent looks for an important role. “Ameer plays a rowdy in my film and the story is about his friendship with a schoolgirl,” Siva points out as a matter of fact.
